Prayer, Principle 5A. Forgiveness-Beatitude of Peacemaking

The Meaning of Pure in Heart:

It is prayer to be free from corrupt desire, from sin and guilt, and cleaning our conscience will bring us a relationship that enables clear vision og God .

From the  Prayer Notebook:

Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.

5A. CONFESSION – As I have kept short sin-debts by immediate confession of sins You have revealed, I now pause to examine my heart further for wrong attitudes. As You convict, I will once again make confession of my sin and remember it's results.

Matthew 5.3-10 "Blessed are..."

1B. THE BEATITUDES – Lord, help me...

3)the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

1C. To obtain spiritual goals You expect, that I might receive the fullest reward in heaven.

4)they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.

2C. To weep over sin You reveal to me, that I might have the peace of Your forgiveness.

5)the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

3C. To yield when I am shown sin, so that I may receive my earthly inheritance.

6)those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled,

4C. To desire being right in thoughts and actions, so that I will live right continuously.

7)the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

5C. To show mercy as I have received it from You, that I may have Your mercy's fullness.

8)the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

6C. To have an undefiled conscience, that I might have intimate fellowship with You.

9)the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.

7C. To love and respect others as You do, so that I may have a godly testimony among them.

Barnes Notes

Verse 9. Blessed are the peacemakers. Those who strive to prevent contention, and strife, and war. Who use their influence to reconcile opposing parties, and to prevent lawsuits, and hostilities, in families and neighbourhoods. Every man may do something of this; and no man is more like God than he who does it. There ought not to be unlawful and officious interference in that which is none of our but, has business; without any danger of acquiring this character, every man many opportunities of reconciling opposing parties. Friends, neighbours, men of influence, lawyers, physicians, may do much to promote peace. And it should be taken in hand in the beginning. "The beginning of strife," says Solomon, "is like the letting out of water." "An ounce of prevention," says the English proverb, "is worth a pound of cure." Long and most deadly quarrels might be prevented by a little kind interference in the beginning. Children of God. Those who resemble God, or who manifest a spirit like his. He is the Author of peace, (#1Co 14:33) and all those who endeavour to promote peace are like him, and are worthy to be called his children.

"peacemakers" #Ps 34:14

Sin creates a lot of strife and "war." Having an attitude of peacemaking opens the eyes to the causes of strife and war: SIN. Being a peacemaker reduces sin around that person.
